Most modern diseases have their origins in the foods we eat (and don’t eat) in our polluted environments, and in the polluted waters we drink.
Over 95% of Americans have a “leaky gut,” meaning that their digestive tract is inflamed and digestion is seriously impaired. Friendly bacteria, which manufacture many of our vitamins and brain chemicals as well as digest our foods, cannot survive in an unhealthy intestine thus causing overgrowth of Candida Albicans fungus as well as all types of degenerative diseases.
The xenoestrogens in our foods, meats, plastics, household chemicals, etc can cause hormonal imbalances putting further stress on the immune system. Degenerative diseases such as cancers, ADD, ADHD and autism, Alzheimer's, heart diseases, etc are the result.
Candida albicans is a fungus which is present in every body. It is a health problem in over 70% of the US population, (and 70% is a very low estimate). It is found on the skin and mucous membranes. In small amounts it is harmless but when its growth increases drastically it can be devastating. It is considered one of the most prevalent yet unrecognized conditions of modern man.
Cravings for carbohydrates and sweets is common in persons with candida overgrowth. It is a chronic health problem in nearly 100% of all people with degenerative diseases and all people who have gone through an extensive antibiotic regime.
After antibiotic use, it may take several years for the candida to show up, but it will show up unless we take steps to control it. We can never stop candida completely, as it is a normal part of our gut. But we can keep it under control by taking certain steps.
* Maintain a largely 'white-free' diet. (no sugar, no flour, no pasteurized milk)
* Removing carbohydrates, sweets, moldy foods, fermented foods and alcohol from the diet
* Eat cultured vegetables two to three times a day. Cultured vegetables will restore the friendly bacteria into the digestive tract so that these can maintain control over the Candida fungus.
* Supplementing with a good probiotic (“friendly bacteria”easily found in yogurt, kefir or in supplement form)
* Eat very little processed foods.
* Take the "Candida Kit" made by Kroeger Herbs.
* Buy and read the Body Ecology Diet book by Donna Gates
